Company History

In 1959, Will Young came to Marshall, MO and married Jeanne Willems Caldwell and together they developed over the last sixty years what is now known as the W. B. Young Company, Inc.  The principle activity of the business is grain handling and storage, and steel fabrication.  What was at one time a sales job for Will Young has turned out to be a major enterprise for Marshall, MO.

Not long after the company was established the Young's purchased twelve acres of land on Highway 65 South, within the city limits of Marshall.  In recent years they have expanded buildings and acreage to include manufacturing, assembling, and office facilities.  The activities of this firm are closely related to the material resources of the central Missouri area, as most of the bins are erected by W. B. Young Company, Inc., are for farm operators or agribusiness units.

On December 1, 2013, the company became and employee-owned company forming an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

W. B. Young Company, Inc. employees approximately 30 people.
